Singer Nick Jonas was lucky enough to get to cozy up next to his crush Shania Twain at the Billboard Women in Music ceremony in New York City, where he presented her with the Icon award. Nick dished to Billboard about his top five Shania songs. He said that “You’re Still the One” is truly magical, noting, “I got the chance to see Shania’s Vegas show, and when she performed this song onstage with a white horse at her side, it really sealed the deal for me: Shania Twain, lifetime crush.”

Friday’s event wasn’t the first time the 24-year-old Wycoff native has raved about the popular country singer. He told Us magazine in June, “I was a huge Shania Twain fan. She was my first celeb crush.”

But his crush on the 51-year-old country-pop diva isn’t just skin deep; she’s even had an effect on his musical career. He revealed to Complex, “Shania Twain is one of my biggest influences. I love her. Her ex-husband [Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange] is one of the greatest record producers of all time, specifically with that crossover pop music thing. Melodically, vocal arrangements, the songs—I think it’s all brilliant.”

For her part, Shania is thrilled that he as well as Drake have expressed such public attraction to her. She told HELLO! magazine of the famous men crushing on her, “It’s really fun. I love it. Kids are so self-confident now and they say those things out loud and it’s so cute. It’s a great compliment to me, and I’m flattered by it.”

Here’s another reason this moment between the two popular singers was so special: The Jonas Brothers covered Shania’s hit “I’m Gonna Getcha Good!” in their 2009 concert film Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, another of Nick’s favorite songs. His take: “The production and vocal performance on this are next-level. My brothers and I covered this song in 2008. I played drums and sang my favorite part, the pre-chorus, so the rest of the time I could rock out.” Watch:
