There’s something about seeing our favorite childhood television and movie co-stars hanging out together outside the set that puts an instant smile on our faces. So you can only imagine the excitement we felt when we saw Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle stars John Cho and Kal Penn out and about in North Carolina campaigning for Hillary Clinton.
The real life best friends kicked off the early voting registration period in various NC hot spots as a way to help spread the word about the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee. John and the Montclair native hit up North Carolina State University and even made time to chill with a cardboard cutout of Justin Bieber during their real-life road trip. (No word on whether they indulged in any fast food as they did in the 2004 stoner movie which was set in and around New Brunswick, New Jersey, but was actually filmed in Toronto!)
Kal isn’t the only NJ celebrity who stands with Hillary. Bergenfield’s Jack Antonoff is a proud supporter and so is outspoken boss babe Lena Dunham, who gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention alongside America Ferrera.
Perth Amboy’s Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to play a “Get Out the Vote” concert on October 27 in Pittsburgh. NJ-born actress and advocate Diane Guerrero has also remained vocal about her political stance.
