There was certainly no shortage of A-listers Thursday night at the 10th anniversary of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation in New York City. Bill Clinton, who was in attendance when Jon Bon Jovi launched the foundation in 2006, praised the musician and his wife Dorothea Hurley for the work they’ve done to end hunger and homelessness.

He spoke to the crowd, “I came here to add my voice of thanks to Jon and Dorothea who house the homeless and feed the hungry. And remind us all that underneath our differences, we’re not so different after all.”

The Former President also recalled visiting Soul Kitchen, Jon’s Garden State volunteer or pay it forward restaurant.

He said, “I trust people who’ve got the friends they’ve grown up with, who never walk away from their roots, and know that the people you feed at the Soul Kitchen are just as good as the people you met at the White House.”

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo and his sister Mary Cuomo Cole were honored with the JBJSF Inspiration Award. Other notable attendees were Senator Cory Booker, Gayle King, David BryanJohn McEnroe, Katie Couric, Michael Strahan, Savannah Guthrie, and Willie Geist, who MC’ed the event.
