Make Melissa Gorga’s favorite Sangria (from Rails Steakhouse)

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga sure does love those sangrias from Rails Steakhouse. The Montclair boutique owner declared her love for their red sangria at Dolores Catania’s leopard themed birthday party during Episode 3, by proudly proclaiming that “Rails has the best sangria.” She then put back a few too many, and got a little too tipsy to drive home, so DD Teresa Giudice came to her rescue. Phew, that’s what sisters-in-law are far!

And just the other day Melissa was at her favorite Towaco restaurant with her Envy by Melissa Gorga store manager Derek Zagami enjoying a nice, cold glass of — you guessed it — red sangria!

So of course I had to find out what makes those Rails sangrias taste so good, so I went straight to the source to get you the scoop.

Pat Leone, the Director of Private Dining and Special Events at Rails, tells me they use fresh peach puree in the red, and fresh passion fruit puree in the white, and that’s what makes their sangrias taste so good. So simple, yet so effective!

You now know the Rails sangria secret ingredients, so you can replicate Melissa’s favorite drink at home. But if you want to try the real deal, I suggest stopping by Rails during their Tuesday-Friday Happy Hour, or during their Thursday Ladies Night in the Speakeasy, when both their red and white sangrias are only $6. It’s the perfect excuse to have two, or three, or four, just like Melissa. And if you’re lucky, maybe Teresa will give you a lift home!
